BRUNO WILBERT - PROJECTS FOR PEOPLE AND NATURE

A few years ago, under the title ‘PROJECTS FOR PEOPLE AND NATURE’, I began to use all my experience as a designer, inventor, painter and artist to support nature conservation and aid organisations. Since then, creativity and commitment have gone hand in hand in my projects, and I have made a large number of my products and objects available free of charge for the realisation of social and ecological projects.

The response has been fantastic and encouraging. Environmental and aid organisations as well as committed associations have already received cash and non-cash contributions worth more than €500,000 through my projects and actions to date. I am very pleased about this and it encourages me to continue along this path.

The organisations supported so far include, for example:

  • UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund
  • Greenpeace
  • Rettet den Regenwald
  • Aktion Baum
  • SOS Kinderdorf
  • „Die Arche” Kinderstiftung
  • Deutsche Welthungerhilfe
  • Arbeiterwohlfahrt (AWO)
  • Caritas
  • Deutsches Rotes Kreuz

GAME & MORE

My project GAME & MORE promotes social and ecological initiatives and helps to realise special actions. At its heart is a versatile creative game for young and old, the sale of which supports the construction of schools in developing countries and is manufactured in social institutions. As part of the nationwide GUTES schenken action, the creative game has already resulted in the planting and care of more than 1,000 trees in Germany and has been particularly useful in the care and support of children and young people, but also of older people. As the creative games are not only socially and environmentally beneficial but also great fun, they make excellent gifts for many occasions.

ART4 … OUR NATURE

With the ART4 … OUR NATURE project, I support selected projects and actions in social areas and nature conservation by providing many of my elaborately crafted products and art objects free of charge for actions – for example, SQUARES ART OBJECTS, mono stand-alone objects and sculptures. In this way, I want to get even more people interested in climate, environmental and nature conservation issues, support projects in these areas and thank people who are already doing exemplary work. A few years ago, an international environmental organisation praised my work with the words, ‘It takes no artistry to destroy our natural resources – but it takes artistry to draw attention to the fact.’ These words motivated me to remain active, and perhaps they will inspire others to take action as well.

“HOPE“-INFO-PROJEKT

I conceived the HOPE INFO PROJECT to encourage more people worldwide to take an interest in climate, environmental and nature conservation issues, to find out more about them and ultimately to get involved themselves. The prototype for this is my 3.20-metre-high action sculpture ‘Hope’, which I designed with the aim of installing it in as many countries as possible.

ABOUT ME – BRUNO WILBERT

As a designer, inventor, painter and artist, I have been experimenting with materials, patterns and processes since the 1970s and have initiated numerous projects and collaborations at home and abroad. My interest in contemporary art was shaped, among other things, by my personal encounter with the artist Joseph Beuys, whom I enthusiastically watched as he worked on the prints for his renowned work TRAM STOP for the 1976 Venice Biennale, while he explained his approach to me. The stages of my life have taken me from architecture to engineering and inventions to object art and numerous actions supporting social and environmental projects. Since 2018, I have been living on the Portuguese island of Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean. My studio is located in an idyllic mountain village in the Madeira Natural Park, and the island’s impressive natural environment has become the source of my passion for projects in the fields of nature conservation and environmental protection.

MULTIPLE AWARDS

My works have also received international awards in Italy, France and the USA, for example in Milan with the International Prize Leonardo da Vinci 2024 – Special Edition Gold.
